Support changes to local and national policy
No one should be homeless, especially in one of the wealthiest cities in the world. Safe, affordable housing should absolutely be available to every person living in this country, and we all have a role to play in supporting change and holding our leaders accountable.
There are lots of things you can do:
- Lend your voice to petitions put forward by organisations campaigning for change in housing legislation and homelessness policy. Take part so that the government realises this is an issue that matters to people.
- Write to your MP expressing your concern and asking them to commit to taking action to address homelessness.
- Host an awareness-raising event, such as a film screening.
- Speak up about the issue with people you know.
